Akshaya Tritiya
On the eve of Akshaya Tritiya let's pray to our Lord Jagannath to bless the world. Akshaya Tritiya- It is the day known for fortune and good luck. There is so much significance related to this day that can be traced back. According to our Hindu Mythology, Lord Vishnu- The Preserver of this world took his sixth incarnation in the form of Lord Parshuram. Again on this auspicious day, Goddess Annapurna was born.
On Akshaya Tritiya, Bhagirathi was successful in his efforts
by descending Goddess Ganga from heaven to earth. On this day onwards, the
yatra of Badrinath and Kedarnath commences. Another significance is on this day
when Pandavas went to exile, Lord Krishna had presented them with Akshay Patra
(Akshay Patra- the vessel will never be empty). One more importance of this day
in this era is it is the first ritual towards Rath Yatra- The Car Festival of
Lord Jagannath. From this day onwards, the chariot-making process begins.
Additionally, this day is the start of a new cultivation season or sowing the
paddy (Akshaya Muthi).
This painting shows Suna Besa of Lord Jagannath. One of the
rituals performed in Lord Jagannath temple. The painting is a beautiful home decor
with the intrinsic work of Pattachitra. The material used is Acrylic paints on
a silk cloth. Made in India.
